The software opens slowly
Possible cause
This issue could be related to antivirus software, such as Norton or McAfee, that is configured to perform real-time scanning. Real-time protection in antivirus software continuously monitors all files and programs to detect malicious behavior. While this provides security, it can sometimes interfere with normal application performance, causing delays or slow response times.
Explanation
When our software is opened, it interacts with several files and system resources. If real-time protection is enabled in your antivirus software, it may scan these files and processes as they’re accessed, resulting in slower performance.
Solution
Add the Software to Antivirus Exclusion List
- Norton:
- Open Norton Antivirus.
- Click on Settings.
- Select Antivirus.
- Click on the Scans and Risks tab.
- Scroll down to Exclusions / Low Risks.
- Click Configure next to Items to Exclude from Scans.
- Click Add Files or Folders and select our software’s installation folder.
- Click OK to confirm.
- McAfee:
- Open McAfee Total Protection.
- Click on Real-Time Scanning.
- Click on Excluded Files.
- Click Add File and select our software’s executable file or installation folder.
- Click Save to confirm.
Adjust Real-Time Scanning Setting
If adding the software to the exclusion list doesn’t resolve the issue, consider adjusting the real-time scanning settings to limit the impact on software performance.
For instance, reduce the frequency of scans or configure the antivirus to scan only new or modified files.
Update the Antivirus Software
Ensure your antivirus software is up-to-date. Antivirus updates may include performance improvements or bug fixes.
