Models Not Downloading

  • The download process stalls or doesn’t start.
  • No real-time status updates are received.
  • Error messages related to model downloading may appear.

Possible cause

This issue is likely due to a blocked TCP port, specifically port 6001. Our software requires TCP port 6001 to establish a WebSocket connection with our server for real-time status updates and model downloading. If the port is blocked, the software cannot communicate effectively, resulting in failed downloads.

Explanation

In some environments, IT administrators block or configure TCP ports for security reasons. If TCP port 6001 is blocked, the software cannot receive real-time status updates or download models successfully. Allowing traffic through this port is essential for the software to function correctly.

Solution

Allow TCP Port 6001 Through Windows Firewall

  1. Open the Windows Security Center.
  2. Click on Firewall & network protection.
  3. Click on Advanced settings to open Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security.
  4. In the left pane, click on Inbound Rules.
  5. Click on New Rule in the right pane to start the New Inbound Rule Wizard.
  6. Choose Port as the rule type and click Next.
  7. Select TCP and enter 6001 in the Specific local ports field.
  8. Click Next and select Allow the connection.
  9. Click Next again and choose the network profiles (Domain, Private, Public) as needed.
  10. Provide a name for the rule (e.g., Allow TCP Port 6001) and click Finish.

Update Corporate Firewall Policies (For IT Administrators)

  • Ensure TCP port 6001 is allowed in corporate firewall policies.
  • Update group policies or security policies to permit traffic through port 6001.
  • Test the connection to confirm the software can download models successfully.

Configure Router/Security Suite Settings

  • Access the router’s administration console or security suite settings.
  • Locate the port forwarding section or firewall settings.
  • Add a new rule to allow TCP port 6001.
  • Save changes and restart the router or security software if necessary.

Additional Recommendations

Check Antivirus Software

Ensure that no antivirus software is blocking the connection. If necessary, create an exception for TCP port 6001.

Network Segmentation

Verify that any network segmentation allows traffic between the client’s subnet and our server’s IP range on TCP port 6001.

Proxy Servers

Ensure any proxy server is correctly configured to pass WebSocket traffic.

If the Issue Persists

  • Verify network policies with IT administrators.
